Privacy and Copyrights

All pages and blog posts at www.thisvetsstory.com are copyright to Dr Ferox or their respective authors where stated. You may not replicate or copy them without permission, but you can ask for permission.

We realise that many of the veterinary cases have privacy or confidentiality issues attached to them, and as such we aim to have all contributors abide by the following guidelines.

  • Make every possible attempt to NOT identify any person, clinic, animal or specific location in order to maintain anonymity of writer, animal and owner.
  • Do not use photos without permission if they identify the animal. (for example, a photo of an animal’s face is likely to identify it, but a photo of an Xray, microscope slide or bandage may not. Particular care must be taken not to identify pets, and to avoid livestock identification tags, nametags, cage cards and other identifying labels.)
  • Photos of people require permission to be posted on the blog. This applies to photos where the people are identifiable, not to general photos of crowds.
  • Neutrality should be maintained as appropriate. It is not the intent of this blog to make attacks of defamatory comments against particular individuals or groups.
  • If a blog post contains photos or images that may be considered inappropriate, gory or potentially offensive to sensitive souls (eg, surgery, blood, wounds, puss, etc) Then there will be a label at the TOP of the post informing readers that there is a potentially upsetting image in the post, or the image will be click-to instead (if it is a short post) with a warning on the link.
  • This is a blog, not a scientific journal, and as such most articles will be based on personal opinion. These opinions may be backed up by refering to scientific journals or articles, however. I have a preference for evidence-based medicine, and as such unproven or alternative therapies cannot be officially endorsed.

Remember that the purpose of this blog is to share stories, not details.
